Schroth Method - Posture Management for Scoliosis
The Schroth Method was originally developed in the early 20th Century to provide a comprehensive, therapeutic and effective management of scoliosis.
At Khandallah Physiotherapy centre we can offer comprehensive and tailored solutions using the Schroth Method to help you achieve and maintain optimal posture. Whether you are experiencing discomfort due to everyday postural habits or require specialised management for structural spinal conditions like scoliosis, we are here to guide you.
Our Approach Includes:
Addressing Non-Structural Postural and Movement Issues:
For those struggling with poor posture like slouching, rounded shoulders, or inefficient movement patterns, we provide detailed assessments and individualised treatment plans. Our focus is on identifying muscle imbalances, improving body awareness, retraining movement, offering ergonomic advice, and utilising manual therapy to alleviate pain and stiffness. We empower you with the knowledge and exercises to establish lasting healthy postural habits.
Specialised Schroth Therapy for Structural Spinal Deformities:
We are proud to offer specialised Schroth therapy for individuals with scoliosis and structural kyphosis. This internationally recognised method involves a thorough assessment of your unique spinal curve, followed by a customised exercise programme. Utilising active self-correction, specific breathing techniques, and targeted muscle strengthening, Schroth therapy aims to improve spinal alignment, enhance trunk stability, and potentially slow curve progression.
Appointments:
Appointments for the Schroth technique are initially 60mins at our Khandallah Clinic. This may change once you have had your initial appointment, in discussion with your physiotherapist.
Michal Lahav is our Specialist Schroth practitioner, and Physiotherapist.
